IBE 2020-9th edition of the International Bus Expo – People, the key factor of sustainable tourist and urban mobility. From 14th to 16th October 2020, Rimini expo centre is hosting the 9th edition of the international expo dedicated to buses, being held simultaneously with TTG Travel Experience. At the IEG showcase, the industry’s innovations become solutions for public transport companies and Public Administration.
IBE International Bus Expo is evolving. The 9th edition of the International Bus Expo, organized by Italian Exhibition Group at Rimini expo centre from 14th to 16th October is becoming the platform for Southern Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the solutions available today for public transport. Tourism and urban passengers: people are the key factor of sustainable intermodal mobility.
Like all the expos organized by Italian Exhibition Group, IBE 2020 will be held according to the #safebusiness protocol which, from travel from hotels to the expo, to personal protection devices, constant sanification of the various areas and rooms, to dematerialized tickets, the “no-queue” app for food service, through to the cloakroom service with an automatic cycle, will enable everybody to participate in the Expo in complete safety. For this 9th edition, IBE will be held simultaneously with TTG Travel Experience, facilitating the harmonization of buyers’ calendars and networking.
On a global scale, transport and infrastructures are going through a radical transformation, thanks to the digital technology adopted. The logic of market supply is changing: zero-emission vehicles are gradually replacing those using fossil fuel; while constant data exchange is changing the way in which passengers use transport systems. The 2020 edition of IBE International Bus Expo is therefore opening up to integrated collective transport that is also innovative and sustainable. The range of products is expanding in an interconnected system for public transport. From urban mobility to long-distance travel, from small public transport vehicles to shared mobility: the supply chain is becoming dynamic along with the adoption of alternative power such as CNG, LNG, methane and electric. It will be possible to try out these solutions during test drives with the new models of vehicles with the most recent technology for assisted driving for road safety.
IBE 2020 will be a platform on which the industry’s innovations will meet the demand for solutions on behalf of tour operator companies, Public Administration and local public transport companies; there will also be considerations on green issues with the supervision of a Technical Scientific Committee formed by the sector’s most important associations: from ANFIA to UNRAE, ANAV, ASSTRA and AGENS; the institutions, from the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport to the Ministry for the Environment, through to the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Rimini, Rome’s La Sapienza Roma University and Milan Polytechnic.
The busy program of conferences, workshops and seminars will cover three macro areas. First and foremost: technology and innovation, which will cover the topics of the key role of mobility managers and training in organization solutions, facilities and services for new mobility, sourcing and analysis of data. secondly: sustainability and decarbonization, processes already under way in which the effectiveness pf alternative power is put to the test on the road. Lastly, the impact of Covid-19 on supply chains and local public transport: from the modernization of bus fleets to changing styles in driving, the expertise necessary for vehicle maintenance, governance, school and long-distance transport.
