Bus and Truck Expo took place in the superb venue of the China National Convention Centre in Beijing from 11 to 13 May 2015. On a net surface of 14.000m², the exhibiting bus and coach manufacturers showed 66 vehicles, about 40% buses and 60% coaches.
All the big Chinese bus and coach manufacturers were present. Some of them launched new vehicles like Yutong, Higer and King Long. A new player, Eastlake New Energy Group, presented its vehicles of the brands Yangtse and Tian Ji Xian to the visitors.
The future bus market in China clearly will need big capacity buses, nevertheless only one articulated vehicle was presented during the exhibition. Overall, the design of Chinese vehicles is changing towards a more Western look.
Although there were no international bus and coach manufacturers, international spare parts and accessory companies were present, such as Millbrook, Hubner, Bitzer, Allison Transmission, Konvekta and Continental.
The attending visitors were mainly of Chinese origin.
However, Busworld Academy could count on some international delegates.
Busworld reinforced the brand of Bus and Truck Expo by organizing a Busworld Academy seminar. The debate about new energy buses such as battery electric and diesel-electric hybrids was very welcomed. The room was filled with an interested audience. Advantages and disadvantages, future evolutions, all aspects were discussed.
