The MAN Lion’s City GL CNG city bus has been acclaimed as “Bus of the Year 2015”. In the “Bus Euro Test”, the articulated bus powered by gas impressed an international jury of recognised journalists. The award is one of the most prestigious trophies in the bus sector. The MAN Lion’s City GL CNG with its CNG drive in Euro 6 provides an extremely low-pollution, climate-friendly and at the same time economic mobility solution for urban traffic. Fuelled with biogas or e-gas, the articulated bus can be operated nearly CO2-neutral and therefore at the full electric vehicle level (well-to-wheel). Its vehicle concept, designed for inner-city routes with very high passenger numbers, also helped the Lion’s City GL CNG to win the “Bus of the Year 2015”.

Vehicle concept: Short stop times, more passengers
Its transportation capacity of up to 142 people makes the 18.75-metre long articulated bus perfect for inner-city routes with very high passenger numbers. Five double-width doors ensure an optimum passenger flow and therefore short stop times. This allows bus operators to serve a route with less vehicles and profit from lower costs. The seat architecture in the interior of the prize-winning MAN Lion’s City GL CNG has also been designed for short routes and time-saving entry and exit.

Interior: High convenience, innovative equipment
The “Bus of the Year 2015” is also fitted with new ticket machines as further optimisation of the passenger flow. Tickets bought by smartphones can also be scanned on them. Furthermore, the bus provides internet access over a free WiFi hotspot. The well lit and pleasant interior climate in the MAN Lion’s City GL CNG is produced by LED lights, skylights and the translucent gaiter.

CNG engine: Natural gas, biogas or e-gas operation in Euro 6
The very economical MAN E2876 CNG engine achieves 310 HP and is designed for operation with natural gas, biogas or e-gas. A maximum in environmental friendliness and driving comfort in public transport is also ensured by the 4-speed automatic transmission, SensoTop control system and retarder. The CNG tanks on the roof of the MAN Lion’s City GL CNG enable a long operating range with their volume of 2,050 litres.
