Spheros to be main hatch supplier to Solaris

Leading Polish bus manufacturer Solaris has selected Spheros as its exclusive supplier of bus roof hatches. Each year about 2,500 Modus Clear hatches are to be installed in the latest Solaris models for operation all over Europe.

The requirement profile for the new bus roof hatches for Solaris specified that they be made of glass, ensure passenger safety and comfort, and conform to the highest manufacturing quality standards whilst maintaining reasonable production spheroscosts. In the end, the decision-makers at Solaris opted for the new Modus Clear roof hatch from Spheros-Parabus. Thanks to its modular concept, the hatch is available in various forms, manual or electrically operated, extremely flexible and adaptable in accordance with customer requirements. The intelligently integrated glass hatch is a highly effective complement to the vehicle’s air conditioning system. Due to the auxiliary ventilation unit via the roof, overheating of the bus interior can be significantly reduced. This relieves the burden on the air conditioning, particularly before the bus sets off on its journey, thus preserving the components of the air conditioning unit and the environment as well.

Spheros-Parabus is headquartered in Turku/Finland and has been a manufacturer of roof hatches since the 1970s. Every year the company produces and delivers more than 40,000 roof hatches and emergency exits all over the world. It also manufactures about 6,000 fans per year. Whether they are destined for a high-end bus, school bus or a mobile home,  according to the customer’s wishes.
