I think that a dicussion and an exchange of opinions on the topic of the excursions for students is very urgent. I have been working now for 30 years in this field, and I can clearly see that we are now well on the way to doing away with the excursions for students. But as the popular proverb says: “Better to see something once, than to hear about it 3 times”. The reasonable concern of the students to travel on good buses, at ease, and comfortably has turned into an endless collection of a heap of documents required by persons who have no idea whatsoever of transport and tourism. And so, the principle of “no man, no problem” currently operates in this field, since if there were no excursions, there would be no problems for the employees at the Inspectorate.
The other very important issue that I want to raise is the issue of double taxation. We pay VAT in our country, we also pay it in Germany, and we also pay it in Slovenia. And on top of that, we also have to pay processing charges. I tried to acquaint our members of parliament with this pressing problem. They nodded and said they would deal with it in a detailed manner … then, they were gone.
Our professional organizations are weak, and we have no representatives in the state institutions. Hopefully, your magazine will provide a platform for the discussion of ways to resolve the pressing problems. Having shared our problems, we will have some feeling of relief at least. I wish success to the magazine!
