VDL Bus & Coach delivers 62 Citeas to Arriva Nederland for Southeast Friesland and West Frisian Islands concession
VDL Bus & Coach has delivered 62 Citeas to passenger transport company Arriva Nederland for the Southeast Friesland and Dutch West Frisian Islands concession. The vast majority of the delivery consists of Citeas LLE-120. Starting on 11 December 2016, the date upon which the concession starts, 48 vehicles of this model have been scheduled to operate on several lines in Friesland. 14 VDL Citeas Electric are bound for the West Frisian Islands. They are 10 Citeas SLF (12 metres in length) and 4 articulated Citeas SLFA (18 metres in length).

VDL Bus & Coach offers the opportunity to choose from various electric drive systems, battery packs and charging systems so the most ideal and optimal combination can be selected for every deployment area, without affecting accessibility, interior layout or comfort. As a result, passengers are taken to their destination in a low-noise and environmentally friendly manner, but also in a comfortable manner. For the West Frisian Islands Arriva has opted for 10 VDL Citeas SLF-120 Electric, 12 metres in length, and 4 articulated VDL Citeas SLFA-180 Electric, 18 metres in length. All electric Citeas are fitted with a rapid charging system using a pantograph.
48 VDL Citeas LLE
The VDL Citea LLE is distinguished by its extremely low net weight, with major advantages being significantly lower fuel consumption in comparison to conventional buses and lower maintenance costs. The fuel saving not only means lower operating costs but also significant reduction of the CO2 emissions.
All the buses for Southeast Friesland are fitted with Wi-Fi and USB charging points for every seat. With these 48 Citeas LLE Arriva’s existing LLE fleet has once more been increased.
