From 1.4.2018 onward there will be new changes passing through Slovenia – a new electronic toll system in the free traffic system (DarsGo system) will start operating in Slovenia for vehicles exceeding the maximum permissible mass of 3,500 kilograms. In the existing toll system, toll will be paid until 31 March 2018 inclusive until the end of the day – until midnight.
From 1.4.2018 onward, all vehicles for driving along Slovenian toll roads (motorways and expressways) will have to be equipped with DarsGo devices. On the https://youtu.be/V0vCcId7mHU link, you can watch an animated movie about how the DarsGo system will work.
Due to the great interest in acquiring DarsGo devices among users of the Slovenian motorway network, which will continue to intensify in the coming weeks, we advise you to ensure that all the necessary for toll payment in the DarsGo system as soon as possible and the transition from the existing tolling system to a new way of charging, ready. This will avoid any inconvenience due to the increased demand for DarsGo devices, which is expected in the last few weeks before the DarsGo system is operational.
You can get DarsGo devices on any of DarsGo services:
– in Ljubljana (Grič 54),
– at the resting places of Maribor, Lopata and Grabolos and
– at border crossings Obrežje, Gruškovje and Fernetiči.
From 1 February onwards, as well as at all service stations at motorway rest areas at contractual DarsGo services at Petrol, OMV and MOL. To obtain a DarsGo device for a particular vehicle, you need a vehicle’s traffic permit, the administrative cost of issuing each DarsGo device is EUR 10 with VAT.
You can register your company and vehicles in the DarsGo system via the website www.darsgo.si . After the registration has been completed, you can also pay the administrative costs of issuing DarsGo devices with one of the payment cards on the website, in which case you will receive DarsGo devices by post. Alternatively, on DarsGo’s website, you can only register your company and vehicles, print DarsGo pick-up receipts, and sign up with one of the DarsGo services, where they will issue them after paying your administrative expenses.
To get more DarsGo devices, call the Call Center at the phone number 01 518 8 350, or write to info@darsgo.si at info@darsgo.si, where you will receive all the necessary information on how to make it as quick and easy as possible. They are also available for all other questions regarding the new toll system.
We also want to remind you that you will have to make unused balances from the existing toll system in due time.
There is no information connection between the existing and the new system, so there is no direct transfer of unused credit from Dars cards or ABC tables to DarsGo devices. All unused credits (without recognized discounts), which will still be on DARS cards and ABC tables after 31.3.2018, will be returned to their transaction accounts. The cost of refunding the credit from each electronic medium is charged at EUR 6 with VAT. Dars cards and ABC tables will need to be returned by 30.6.2018 and enclose accounts at least at the level of credit on each medium. When refunding a credit, this is a time-consuming process, and this could take a long time to recover a large number of electronic media.
We advise you to charge a credit in the amount that you will spend by the end of March 2018 in March 2018 (the last month of operation of the old system), so that when you start the new system on Dars cards and ABC tables, you will not have (high) unused credit. An even simpler solution is to link your Dars card or ABC table to one of the petrol cards in the last weeks of the system’s operation and pay a toll at a paycheck, so you will not have unused credit.
