Como public transport operator ASF has introduced seven new Yutong electric buses — models E10 and E12 — officially presented on November 11. These electric buses in Como will operate on the city’s urban network, as reported on Italian trade media – and our sister platform – Autobus.

Alongside the new Yutong electric buses, ASF Como has completed a new charging facility at its Como-Lazzago depot. The site includes eight Assytech charging columns capable of charging up to 16 e-buses simultaneously. Financed 77% through PNRR and the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility (PNSMS), the system integrates with ASF’s digital control center for real-time monitoring.
Each charger offers between 75 and 150 kW of power, enabling full recharging in under two hours. The structure also features a canopy ready for solar panels, confirming ASF Como’s commitment to energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
32 Yutong electric buses now operating in Como
With this latest delivery, ASF Como’s Yutong e-bus fleet reaches 32 vehicles — 2 introduced in March 2024, 23 in September, and 7 now entering service. The full electrification of lines 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, and 11 makes Como one of the first mid-sized Italian cities to operate a predominantly electric urban service.
With 10% of the total fleet and 50% of the urban fleet now fully electric, ASF will run over 1.8 million zero-emission kilometers annually.
The Yutong E10 and E12 electric buses feature advanced HVAC systems, regenerative braking, and driver-assistance tools for real-time vehicle monitoring. Accessibility is a central focus: manual ramps for boarding, LetiSmart radio beacons for visually impaired passengers, and onboard audio-visual information systems ensure an inclusive travel experience.
Safety is strengthened by internal surveillance cameras and a 360° camera providing the driver with complete traffic awareness.
