From 1 to 3 March 2016, UITP will co-host IT solutions for European cities Conference and Exhibition (Karlsruhe, Germany). Organised biannually, this hub for IT solutions in the public transport industry attracts public transport practitioners of all categories. IT-related EU-funded research projects will also be there to present, discuss and exchange.

Patrick Skoniezki (UITP) will present OPTICITIES – Interoperable IT solutions for European cities on 1 March, 15:30 – 16:00. The presentation will show how six different cities tackle complex mobility challenges in order to provide urban citizens with the best possible journey conditions and to optimize urban logistics operations.
On the following day, Yves Amsler (UITP) will take you to the IT world in rail sector while speaking about the NGTC Project and IT: what for IP based radio communications for mainline and urban rail? (2 March, 13:30 – 14:00).
We also invite you to listen to Mihai Barcanescu (UITP) on the last day (3 March, 10:30 – 11:00), who will explain the role of IT Developments in 
’ Research and Innovation Strategies, based on the work of the FOSTER RAIL project.

Conference – join us for inspirational sessions
During the Innovation Session: Giving customers what they need: integrated ticketing (1 March, 16:00 – 17:30), Michael Pellot, (TMB) and Juergen Ross (VBB) will explain how IT2Rail project addresses the customer with integrated ticketing solutions from an operators’ point of view: how it could contribute to achieve a common challenge: the first and last mile. They will explain their own motivations for the acceptance of this technologies and their specific expectations.
