Irizar and Ferrostaal in Partnership

Spanish electric bus manufacturer Irizar has chosen Hamburg-based Ferrostaal Equipment Solutions to take care of its electric bus and charging infrastructure business in terms of sales, project management and after sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Both companies’ aim is to animate operators to purchase electric buses by lowering the initial hurdles. Thus, they intend to offer a complete package from first analysis of the routes to charging management and financial products.

In early August, Irizar was nominated to supply Madrid’s first fleet of 15 electric buses. Also the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport has ordered four articulated buses from Irizar. All in all, the company delivered meanwhile 40 vehicles to Spain, France and Great Britain, 80 additional units are on order. Irizar has a 12m bus in several versions in its line-up as well as an 18m vehicle.
