Transports Publics 2016, the European Mobility Exhibition
A brand new programme in Paris, the capital of European public transport from June 14 to 16, 2016
From June 14 to 16, 2016, Paris will become Europe’s sustainable transport capital!
The European Mobility Exhibition brings together 10,000 stakeholders in sustainable mobility, including elected officials, operators, manufacturers, service companies, institutional players, and journalists – from over 58 countries. Now featuring a European Congress and a Franco-German ‘Rail Day’, this seventh edition of the event will have an even stronger policy dimension – and greater strategic impact. Embodying the European culture of sustainable mobility, the Exhibition is the perfect showcase for industry expertise and innovations across Europe in rail and road transport, active mobility, and passenger services. This year, GIE Objectif transport public, GART and UTP are offering a new, even fuller programme at the exhibition, bringing together 250 exhibitors from across Europe. Two new events at the heart of the Exhibition On June 14 and 15, the GART/UTP Congress will be taking stock of threats to the economic viability of public transport, and looking at the new social needs it will have to address. Six months on from the COP 21 conference, the opening session will examine how public transport can contribute to combating climate change. A dozen technical and interactive workshops will focus on topics including EU policy, fare evasion and security matters, the ‘NOTRe’ French boundaries reform act, women passengers, bosses and workers, energy transition, mobility 3.0, and new types of contract between organising authorities and operators. The closing session of the Congress will consider a business model for 2017 and beyond.
On June 16, there’s a special rail transport day, entitled “The future of the French and German Rail Systems”.
Organised by UTP and its German counterpart VDV, with the support of Fer de France and UITP, the event will look at deregulation and competitiveness against the backdrop of the adoption of the EU’s Fourth Railway Package. French and German stakeholders will be discussing issues including rail network safety, interoperability and performance, market globalisation and the industry as a whole, freight, the competitiveness of regional transport, and competition in general. Press release Throughout the three-day exhibition, visitors will be able to attend sessions at the Espace Europe venue, the Public Transport Innovation awards, the European ‘Talent in Mobility’ awards, and the Golden Bus award, as well as Experts’ Forum presentations, where they can find out all about exhibitors’ latest news. 10,000 highly qualified visitors 96% visitor satisfaction 250 international exhibitors 3 days of roundtable debates 58 countries represented Fifty vehicles on display
