At Busworld Europe Van Hool will be presenting the EX11, the fourth model in the EX-range after to the EX15, EX16 and EX17. Just four years ago Van Hool launched the EX-range, a modern, efficient, innovative and comfortable alternative to the ever-increasing competition in the coach world market. Van Hool is exhibiting 8 vehicles at its booth and has 10 coaches available for test drives.
With the new EX11 Van Hool is responding to the increasing market demand to offer a well-equipped and comfortable vehicle in the 11-metre class. Including the L and H variants, with low or standard boarding height, the full EX-range consists of no fewer than 10 versions. All are available with powerful, economical DAF engines of the latest ‘NG’ generation, coupled with a wide range of manual, automated and automatic gearboxes.
The new Van Hool EX11 is available in two versions, 3.545 m high as the EX11L and the EX11H of 3.805 m height. Like all the Van Hool EX coaches, this “short one” is also built in Van Hool’s state-of-the-art factory in Skopje, Macedonia. The EX11L is fitted with a Paccar/DAF MX-11 270kW (367 hp) Euro 6 engine with 1900 Nm or the MX-11 300kW (408hp/2100Nm) and with a manual gearbox GO210(230), a ZF TraXon or the ZF EcoLife. The EX11H can also be equipped with the MX-11 330kW (449hp/2300 Nm) and the same choice in gearboxes.
Van Hool will seize this event to introduce technological innovations on a few of its vehicles. These innovations will be unveiled for the first time now at Busworld Europe 2019. Test vehicles outside the expo are for instance the new EX11 L S with TraXon gearbox, EX16 with TraXon or EcoLife gearbox and the Astronef and Astromega with Allison gearbox

The EX was designed and developed at Van Hool’s headquarters in Koningshooikt (Belgium). The design team analysed the needs of the transport sector, listened to its customers and on that basis designed this completely new transport concept. All this combined, naturally, with the tried and tested techniques and technology of Van Hool that is the result of many years’ research and experience.
Macedonia
The EX is manufactured at the state-of-the-art production facility in Skopje (Macedonia), where the more than 1300 technically skilled, trained and highly motivated local workers have proven their ability in the construction of cars for the demanding American market. The principle of ‘Lean Manufacturing’ applied at the facility means an efficient and economically responsible mode of production.
EXtremely efficient.
Updated and innovative elements such as the highly functional dashboard and the seats make for greater comfort and ergonomy for passengers and driver alike. New passenger seats, modular seat formation and on-board toilet provide maximum flexibility. The very low floor ensures efficient flow of passengers in and out of the coach and is optimal for access by persons with limited mobility and for wheelchair users. The doors to the luggage area open at the most compact angle, and it can accommodate an unrivalled large amount of luggage. Just as the streamlined interior respects the needs of passengers, so the Euro 6 engine, already integrated into the coaches of our TX range, is respectful of the environment.
